Position Description

This is a career opportunity with Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for set-up, deliver and retrieve all food and beverage orders to guest roomsand hospitality suites while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance ofIHC standards and profit maximization, and maintaining a sanitary environment.In Room Dining Servers are responsible for presenting guest food and beverage preferences timely andto temperature. Servers engage in casual conversation and enhance the experience by their style andservice attributes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Set-up and deliver all food and beverage orders in accordance with established guidelines, proceduresand policies as prescribed by IHC Standards. Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages toguests. Set tables according to type of event and service standards. Answer questions on menuselections. Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cookorders, and product availability. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietaryneeds, and special requests to the kitchen. (70%)2. Conduct floor sweeps and retrieve all food and beverage trays in order to maintain established sanitationguidelines. Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day. (10%)3. Set-up and deliver all VIP amenities. (5%)4. Service all hospitality suites in accordance with BEO and established policy and procedures. (2%)5. Complete all shift side work as outlined in the hotel's operating policies and procedures. Complete closingduties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. Present physical and accurate check toguest and process payment. (2%)6. Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience andenhance future sales. Report all communications to immediate shift supervisor. Follow all companyand safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe workconditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform andpersonal appearance is clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information,and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to companystandards, anticipate and address guests' service needs (2%)7. Perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with IHC policies and procedures. (2%)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (8%)Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals,and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to qualityexpectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull,and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonablejob duties as requested by Supervisor/Manager.1. Maintain all inventory of needed supplies.2. Answer the telephone and take all customer orders in accordance with operating policies andprocedures..
