Job Summary:

The Night Manager acts as the Resort's Manager on Duty and is responsible for all Resort Operations during the overnight shift.  The Night Manager assists the Front Office Manager with the planning, organizing, development and direction of the Front Office operations to ensure outstanding guest service and financial profitability.  The Manager assists with the development of the Front Office staff to operate at the highest standards as they relate to efficiency, professionalism, accuracy, and customer service. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages all Resort operations during the overnight shift, focusing on front office operations, night audit, and safety and security
  • Responsible for overseeing bell/valet, engineering and food and beverage areas
  • Provide guidance and leadership to front office team to include selection, training, scheduling, supervising, developing, discipline and counseling according to property's policies and procedures
  • Ensures guest service agents are following front office procedures to include check in, reviewing arrivals lists, guest billing, and reservations
  • Ensures organization and operation of night audit operations
  • Take emergency calls and ensure support areas are covered to provide excellent customer service
  • Monitors and assesses service and satisfaction
  • Ensures Team Members have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, local area, pricing and policies
  • Resolves customer complaints and anticipates potential problems and operational issues
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of MS offices
  • Able to work graveyard shift

Ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years related Front Office experience with 1 year as supervisor/assistant manager in similar setting
  • Ability to lead others in the department
  • General knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping transactions commonly used in hotel/resort
  • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, use hands and/or reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, at least 20" or less; distant vision at 20' or more and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and own or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and other office/IT equipment.
