Linen Room Attendant

Position Summary
Ensures that housekeeping carts are stocked per the Hostar system. Ensures that linen is preserved in a clean and orderly condition.
Job Specific 90%
• Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, as per personal appearance standards
• Follows OSHA regulations and all policies and procedures as set forth by the Housekeeping department
• Transports linen bins and supplies to stocking areas
• Pulls all mobiles and Tote carriers to stocking areas
• Operates services elevators safely and efficiently
• Keeps work safe and clean while restocking the area, allowing other business to continue without interruption
• Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
• Encourages a positive attitude among employees and treats guests and fellow employees with courtesy and respect
• Anticipates needs, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring complete satisfaction
• Performs all duties in a timely and professional manner
• Applies teamwork skills at all times
• Uses proper chemicals when cleaning as described by the department’s procedures
• Follows drawer color codes to properly stock linen and supplies
• Replenishes all drawers linen, supplies, glasses and chemicals
• Ensures that the Housekeeping closets are neat, organized, and secure
• Uses glass washer to clean glasses and mugs
• Refills spray bottles with cleaning chemicals
• Wipes down and/or cleans Room Attendant mobile transport equipment
• Properly uses and maintains equipment and supplies
• Cleans up restocking areas at end of stocking area
• Returns all linen to housekeeping for consolidation of bins
• Returns all supplies both unused drawers and partial drawers to pick station.
• Notes any problems or shortages of an area for linen or supplies
• Reports all linen shortages to a Housekeeping Manager
• Immediately reports maintenance deficiencies, damage, or loss to Housekeeping department
• Turns lost and found items into Security in accordance with hotel standards
• Operates and maintains the following equipment (once trained): pulling linen carts, power assisted mobiles, tote collectors
• Attends all department meetings as scheduled
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned which may include cleaning of guest rooms as a Guest Room Attendant. Performing duties of a Turndown Attendant or any task needed in the administration of housekeeping services as directed by the Director of Housekeeping

• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards

• Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
• Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules
• Recycles whenever possible
• Remains current with hotel information and changes
• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
Required Skills and Experience
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Required:
• Good service skills
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product
• Able to handle objects, reach with arms and hands, push a cart weighing 100-150 lbs., and lift 50-70 lbs.
• Knowledge of and ability to use Resilient Floor cleaning/polishing and carpet shampoo equipment
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:
Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required
