Job Description

The Downtown Oklahoma City Renaissance Convention Center Hotel by Marriott, a Four Diamond hotel, is seeking a Director of Accounting to coordinate and implement accounting policies, procedures, and practices. This position completes all daily, weekly, and monthly accounting.

HOTEL PROFILE: Located steps from the Bricktown Entertainment District in downtown OKC, the hotel includes a full service spa, large indoor pool, fitness center, and proudly serves Starbucks at its own Caffeina's Marketplace. The property includes 15 floors, 258 rooms, 53 suites, 3 concierge levels and a new lobby. Check in is at 4pm with checkout at 11am, so the housekeeping team is tasked with providing exemplary service to our guests at this 4-star hotel in Oklahoma City.

1. Ensure compliance with all sales and use tax regulations and insure accurate accruals of all sales and use tax accounts.
2. Monitor cashier over/short procedures, counsel employees as needed, and coordinate repayment or disciplinary action as required.
3. Active involvement in property internal controls and safeguarding property assets
4. Ensure compliance with all internal and external audit findings.
5. Responsible for managing the accounts receivable functions and ensuring the accounts are in good standing.
6. Ensure timely and accurate credit card and cash deposits
7. Assist GM in property profitability and financial analysis
8. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
2. 5 – 7 years of Accounting and Finance Leadership experience
3. Strong knowledge of hotel property management systems and point of sale systems.
4. Strong knowledge of the accounts payable, income audit, and general ledger reconciliation functions.
5. Hospitality industry experience preferred
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
