RESIDENT ATTENDANT

Amica at Beechwood Village, Sidney, BC

(Part-Time)

(Evening Shifts; 5pm-9pm)

Required Skills & Experience

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Resident Attendant is responsible for providing general hospitality services to assist residents with activities of daily living, in order to enhance the residents’ ability to maintain an independent, active lifestyle and high quality of life.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized Resident Attendant program and possesses recent experience working with geriatrics, long-term care, or home services.  A current CPR and First Aid certification is required.  You have the ability to work in a team environment as well as a demonstrated ability to organize workload, set priorities and respond to emergencies in a professional manner. Good oral and verbal communication skills are required as well as the capability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position as this position requires the ability to carry out lifting, bending and stooping.  All duties will be performed in a safe, professional and supportive manner that supports the residents’ need for self-respect and privacy. Applicants should have flexible availability to accommodate weekend and evening shifts. Currently this position requires availability evening shifts.
